Peak District Farm Holiday - Gateham Grange is situated nr. the Manifold Valley and Dovedale and lies about one and a half miles north west of the pretty village of
Alstonefield in the beautiful Peak District National Park.
a true working family farm and during our 29 years here we have tried to work in harmony with our
environment and have in this time rebuilt the majority of all our limestone
walls, cleared ponds, set trees, and replanted hedges to encourage the wildlife.
The farm has both traditional and modern buildings.
There is a very interesting old Dovecote dated 1789. We have a suckler herd (50 cows with calves at foot), around 380 sheep, and 2 cats.
Guests are welcome to look around the farm, but children must be under adult
supervision. Children love to stay at Gateham Grange during lambing (March
and April) when they are able to help bottle feed lambs. Calving generally
starts in May, then
there's sheep shearing, haymaking and silaging.
Certain times of the year are busier than others on the farm so
what there is to see can vary, please feel free to enquire when booking
